The Greene County Youth Substance Prevention Coalition (GCYSPC) is a multi-sector partnership led by the Rural Alabama Prevention Center (RAPC). We work with schools, parents, youth, community leaders, and local organizations to strengthen prevention efforts and create healthier, drug-free environments for young people across Greene County.
Our Mission
To prevent and reduce youth tobacco, marijuana, and alcohol use by strengthening community collaboration, promoting protective factors, and implementing evidence-based prevention strategies that create sustainable, community-level change.

Youth Advisory Group
GCYSPC includes a Youth Advisory Group made up of youth ages 12–18, including students from Greene County High School. Youth members provide valuable insight into peer norms and community needs, support prevention messaging, and participate in age-appropriate leadership activities. Youth participation is advisory and requires parent/guardian consent.
